Soraya, your piece moved me deeply. The way you gave voice to the French language as something living, sacred, and full of history was incredibly powerful. It felt less like an opinion piece and more like a heartfelt plea, a poetic cry for recognition and respect. Your words speak not only to the Francophone experience in Sudbury but to anyone who has ever felt their language or identity fading into silence. Truly inspiring. Please keep writing. Your voice matters, and it’s one that deserves to be heard.

Alors...c'est des personnes francais avec qui j'essaie de parler Francais qui me faire effrayee de temps en temps. Because it is so rough coming from ma bouche. Toujours I am grateful for the bits I have retained. It remains a surprise to me that one would not be proud to be a fluent speaker of French. Merci a Soraya pi a vous
