It's probably a risky thing to say at the moment, but my heart has never felt a border between New England and the provinces. My head knows there's the divide, but it's always felt a little weird to me. I suppose folks from Mexico might feel that way about Arizona and New Mexico. Eager to see what you write!

The border (and the US-Canada relationship) is definitely very raw and touchy right now in Canada, but as a descendant of Acadians, you are from a "pays" whose borders were always a little vague, so from that optic, I completely understand.
